The decision to invest in a genuine organic crib mattress for your boy or girl is a good one. Harmful chemicals and materials in non-organic baby mattresses can lead to health problems for your little one, including respiratory illnesses, allergies, rashes, and potentially even Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

You should also be alert for organic "impostor" companies who have begun mixing some organic substances with harmful synthetic substances. It is always a good move to choose a certified organic crib mattress over an uncertified one.
If you choose an organic baby mattress it would make sense to also use organic little one bedding for the same reasons that you chose to go organic with your crib mattress. Everything that comes in contact with your newborn is a potential health hazard. We recommend organic crib sheets.
An organic infant mattress is an excellent choice for any child. We recommend that you choose an organic cotton boy or girl mattress. This is not an area where you should compromise. If you cannot afford the best organic boy or girl mattress available we recommend a more affordable organic crib mattress, or alternatively, a less ideal but still acceptable option is to use an organic baby mattress pad pad on top of a non-organic crib mattress. An added side benefit of choosing an organic crib mattress is that they are made from sustainable materials. You are not only ensuring the safety or your baby, you are also saving the world!
